Julian McMahon, an actor known for Nip-Tuck and Charmed, dies at 56

Australian actor Julian McMahon lost his battle with cancer at age 56. The star passed away Wednesday at his home in Clearwater, Florida. His wife Kelly Paniagua shared the sad news with fans around the world. She talked about how much Julian loved his family and his acting career. The actor always wanted to make people happy through his work.

McMahon became famous playing a character on the supernatural show Charmed. He later starred as plastic surgeon Dr Christian Troy on the medical drama Nip/Tuck. The hit series ran for six seasons from 2003 to 2010. His performance earned him a Golden Globe nomination. Co-star Dylan Walsh said he felt shocked about losing his friend.

The talented performer also brought the villain Doctor Doom to life in two Fantastic Four movies. He appeared in the 2005 and 2007 versions of the superhero films. More recently McMahon worked on three seasons of FBI: Most Wanted. Producer Dick Wolf called the news of his death shocking. The actor came from a political family as his father once served as Australian prime minister.

McMahon married three different women during his lifetime. His first marriage was to Australian singer Dannii Minogue. She happens to be the sister of pop star Kylie Minogue. One of his final acting jobs was playing an Australian prime minister on Netflix series The Residence.
