The striker had just helped her team win the league championship before this knockout match. Kabene opened scoring with a clever chip over goalkeeper Gloria Namakuka during the first half. Kampala Queens fought back through Shamira Nalugya's penalty kick and Zaina Nandede's solo effort before halftime.
