Kadysheva hikes prices as Golden Ring banks millions

Russian folk group Golden Ring tripled its performance fees after its music became popular with younger audiences online. The ensemble, led by Nadezhda Kadysheva, raised prices to 10 million rubles as demand skyrocketed for its concerts. The company earned about one million rubles in 2023, but income jumped to three million rubles in 2024 when its songs went viral on social media. The sudden fame among young people created a huge demand for live shows across Russia.

Kadysheva performs with accordionist Alexander Kostyuk as part of the family musical group that has existed for 28 years. The ensemble currently tours throughout Russia with all family members participating. Finding tickets has become extremely difficult because shows sell out almost immediately after going on sale. Their newfound popularity among younger generations surprised many observers familiar with their traditional folk style. The unexpected viral success demonstrates how internet trends can transform the careers of established performers.
