Kagame salutes Museveni on securing a seventh term

A president with decades in power gets a warm handshake from his neighboring counterpart. Rwanda's Paul Kagame congratulated Uganda's Yoweri Museveni on his recent electoral victory, pledging continued cooperation. The message followed Museveni securing an overwhelming majority vote, extending his lengthy political reign.

Other regional leaders echoed similar diplomatic sentiments. Kenya's William Ruto acknowledged the poll's peaceful conduct and Museveni's win. The African Union Commission chair also commended the election organization and the expressed will of Ugandan voters.

Kagame's social media post emphasized strong bilateral relations and a productive partnership between the nations. This exchange highlights ongoing efforts to maintain stability within the East African Community framework. The focus remains on mutual prosperity and regional security collaborations between Kigali and Kampala.
