Kakamega Governor Barasa Warns Politicians Against Divisive Tribal Politics

Kakamega Governor Fernandes Barasa fired back at outside politicians trying to bring tribal fights into his county. He told them to stay home and stop causing trouble among his people. The governor spoke during a power project launch that will bring electricity to rural homes. He wants leaders to focus on helping people instead of stirring up ethnic hatred. Barasa said his county refuses to become a playground for political games.

The governor took direct aim at Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya for his recent comments. Natembeya had attended an opposition rally where he attacked the current government and criticized Barasa. The rally featured former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua and other opposition leaders who blasted President Ruto. Natembeya also slammed the partnership between Raila Odinga and President Ruto. He promised to take back sugar and paper companies when opposition leaders regain power.

Barasa defended the working relationship between President Ruto and Raila Odinga as good for the country. He said this partnership brings real benefits like electricity, roads, water, and jobs to ordinary people. The governor emphasized that residents care more about actual progress than political drama. Energy Cabinet Secretary Opiyo Wandayi praised Barasa as a leader who delivers results for his people. The new electrification project will connect 152 households in its first phase and costs 30 million shillings from county funds.
