Content creator Vincent Kaluma received a full scholarship to East African University for a sales and marketing degree after documenting care for his ailing father on social media. Bishop Muthee Kiengei announced the offer on Sunday at JCM Church in Ruiru after Vice Chancellor Christopher Mutembei confirmed the scholarship. Kenyans visited Kaluma's home on Sept. 28 to support his father, who suffered a stroke in August 2024 and remained in a coma for three months before returning home in December.
Kaluma previously worked picking tea to cover medical expenses and said he posted his first video in July without seeking assistance. His mother, Beatrice Wangechi, thanked Kenyans for their support and said she gained appreciation for technology and talent. The East African University operates as a chartered private institution in Kitengela, Kajiado County, and maintains accreditation from the Commission for University Education.
