Kanchory exposes IEBC election rigging plot in Nairobi back rooms

Former Azimio presidential chief agent Saitabao ole Kanchory stirred controversy by lecturing Kenyans about election management ahead of the 2027 polls. The veteran political operative blasted citizens for their shallow grasp of how presidential contests really work behind the scenes. Kanchory fired off harsh criticism on social media targeting people who believe elections begin and end at voting booths. He argued that most Kenyans with loud opinions lack basic knowledge about electoral complexities. The sharp rebuke came as the newly sworn Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission prepares for the upcoming general election.

Kanchory highlighted how the IEBC wields enormous power over every aspect of presidential races from start to finish. The commission decides where polling stations operate and determines voter eligibility through registration systems and KIEMS technology. Officials also control ballot paper quality, distribution methods, vote counting procedures, and result transmission protocols. The electoral body manages how results get tallied, announced, and declared at the national level. Kanchory insisted that 99 percent of vocal critics have zero clue about these behind-the-scenes operations.

Public pressure mounts on the new IEBC team led by chairperson Erastus Ethekon following their Friday swearing-in ceremony. Kenyans demand credible and transparent elections after the divisive 2022 contest that ended with William Ruto defeating Raila Odinga. Social media users responded with mixed reactions to Kanchory's commentary about electoral management dynamics. Some citizens expressed concern about excessive IEBC influence over election outcomes while others vowed to maintain vigilant oversight. Technology advocates suggested using digital tools to monitor voter numbers and prevent data manipulation attempts.
