Hombale Films pulled the plug on a Chennai promotional event for Kantara: Chapter 1 after a stampede in Karur claimed 41 lives. The production company announced on Monday that the gathering planned for the following day would not proceed out of respect for victims and their families. Studio representatives said they hope to connect with Tamil Nadu audiences at a better time when the community has healed from the tragedy.
