Kantara Chapter 1 makers beg fans to stop piracy

The production company behind Kantara: Chapter 1 has asked audiences to avoid piracy and refrain from recording theater footage. Hombale Films stated on Friday that unauthorized sharing harms both the film and the efforts of thousands of workers who contributed to its creation. The company emphasized that the movie was designed for theatrical viewing to preserve its intended cinematic impact.

The film has garnered praise from multiple figures in Indian entertainment since its release on Wednesday. Cricketer Varun Chakravarthy called it an exceptional portrayal of Indian culture, and director Sandeep Reddy Vanga described it as a masterpiece unlike anything in Indian cinema. The prequel to the 2022 hit opened in six languages and features Rishab Shetty as writer, director, and lead actor.
