Kanu draws Mandela parallels, remains resolute in prison

Nnamdi Kanu's lawyer, Aloy Ejimakor, says the IPOB leader is holding up fine in that Sokoto prison and compared the whole situation to Nelson Mandela's time locked up on Robben Island. Ejimakor posted after visiting Kanu alongside his wife, Uchechi, and his brother, Prince, that the guy stays tough and appreciates everyone backing him through this mess.

The Biafra agitator got shipped to Sokoto custodial center after Justice James Omotosho at Abuja Federal High Court hit him with life imprisonment on terrorism related charges. His lawyer keeps framing it like some heroic struggle but Kanu is basically doing time in northern Nigeria while his supporters rally behind him.
