Martha Karua has invited former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua to join her new party. The People's Liberation Party (PLP) is a rebranded version of Narc Kenya. Karua appealed during Gachagua's visit to Kirinyaga on Saturday.
Karua said they applied for the rebranding in May last year. The process is now complete. PLP will be launched next month.
Karua asked Gachagua to consider joining PLP. She said it is a bigger house and they can walk together.
Gachagua has hinted at launching his party next month, and his allies have confirmed the plans are complete. The former DP seeks to affirm his influence and consolidate his Mt Kenya heartland.
Last week, Former Laikipia Woman Representative Catherine Waruguru said the party would have blue as one of its colors. Embakasi North MP James Gakuya also confirmed the plans. He said the party will shake the country's political landscape.
