Kasukuwere debunks Mzembi death rumors

Political rumors just hit a new low with fake death claims. Saviour Kasukuwere went on X to shut down gossip that Walter Mzembi kicked the bucket. The exiled figure insisted his old colleague is still breathing but remains locked up unfairly. He blamed these grim whispers on shady operators trying to stir the pot.

Mzembi actually sits in a cell currently after getting snagged last summer. The Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission grabbed him in Harare over warrants from a stalled abuse of office trial. Authorities claim he swiped gear meant for fan parks during the 2010 FIFA World Cup.

The state accuses him of taking televisions and public assets for personal use while he led the tourism ministry. He fled the country years ago, claiming he needed cancer treatment in South Africa. That exit caused the legal process to freeze until he returned.

He reportedly met President Emmerson Mnangagwa before agents slapped the cuffs on him. A magistrate denied bail immediately, leaving him stuck in remand prison for six months. The prosecution dug up three old warrants to keep him behind bars.
