Katsina Ala ambush kills police, Jonathan Modi mourns

Ukum Local Government Area Chairman Jonathan Modi mourned security officers killed during an ambush operation on Friday. Suspected herders and militia attacked personnel from Operation Anyam Nyor in Mbatyula, Agu Centre, within Katsina-Ala Local Government Area. The assault left three officers dead and thirteen personnel missing from the joint clearance mission. Bush Commander ASP Danlami Usman, known as Dan Zuru, remains among those unaccounted for following the attack. Multiple security agents sustained injuries during the violent confrontation.

Modi condemned the assault as barbaric and completely unacceptable behavior. He offered prayers for fallen officers and wished rapid healing for wounded personnel. The chairman described the deceased as heroic individuals who sacrificed their lives to protect citizens. Modi promised continued administrative backing for security forces working to restore regional peace. His administration remains committed to supporting law enforcement efforts despite this tragic setback.
