Kebbi State Governor, Dr. Nasir Idris, has warned politicians and stakeholders against politicizing the state's security challenges. Speaking at the Kebbi Elders Consultative Forum Annual Conference and Economic Development Summit in Birnin Kebbi on Wednesday, Idris emphasized that insecurity should be viewed as a collective issue that requires unity, rather than partisan attacks.
He pointed out that no state in Nigeria is free from security problems and cautioned that politicizing these issues undermines efforts to restore peace. "The security of the people should not be politicized. The issue is not about me; it is about the state," he said.
Idris urged the Elders Forum to discourage those exploiting insecurity for political gain, highlighting the negative impact on Kebbi's development. He also noted his administration’s efforts to support security agencies with logistics, vehicles, and funding to combat banditry, especially in the southern region.
