Kennedy Says NPP Execs Should Run Again

Dr. Arthur Kennedy wants the New Patriotic Party leaders to ask voters for permission to stay in their jobs. The former presidential candidate spoke about this idea during a Saturday television show. Kennedy thinks party members should have the chance to decide which executives did well and which ones need to step aside. He believes this process will help the party connect better with regular supporters across Ghana.

Kennedy said this request does not mean the current leaders did anything wrong. He explained that asking for a fresh mandate represents good democratic practice. The process would let grassroots members pick which executives deserve to continue serving the party. Some leaders might earn renewed support from voters while others might face replacement with new people.

The party suffered one of its worst election results recently according to Kennedy. He pointed to research from political analyst Musa Dankwa that showed many Ghanaians felt unhappy with NPP performance. Kennedy used Dr. Bawumia's bus comparison to suggest some people need to leave leadership positions. New drivers and fresh leaders might help the party move forward more effectively.

Kennedy demanded answers from executives who led the party during its decline. He reminded everyone that NPP went from having one of Ghana's strongest election victories to experiencing its weakest mandate. The party needs to examine what went wrong and make changes before the 2028 elections arrive.
