Kenya Airports Authority seeks public input on master plans for JKIA and Wilson Airport

Kenya Airports Authority begins community consultations regarding development blueprints for Jomo Kenyatta International Airport and Wilson Airport. These strategic documents will direct upcoming infrastructure projects and improve aviation services at both facilities. The authority commissioned Dar Al Handasah Consultants alongside Geodev Kenya Limited to conduct environmental and social impact evaluations. Officials stress that public input will shape airport futures and address community concerns effectively. The assessment follows the Environmental Management and Coordination Act requirements from 1999.

Stakeholder meetings target residents, organizations, and affected parties near both airports. Authority representatives will present master plan objectives and collect community feedback during scheduled sessions. The comprehensive strategy addresses infrastructure expansion, operational improvements, environmental protection, and social responsibility. Wilson Airport consultations occur at Lang'ata DCC Boardroom on July 21, South C CDF Hall on July 23, and Langata Mugumoini Chief's Grounds on July 28. JKIA discussions take place at Syokimaau Chief's Camp on July 22, Embakasi Social Hall on July 24, and Mihang'o Chief's Office in Utawala on July 25.
