Kenya cops chase off raiders, snatch back stolen Ugandan cattle

Kenyan police officers have successfully recovered cattle that raiders allegedly stole from Uganda. The animals were taken back after law enforcement tracked down the suspects who had crossed the border. Officers fired shots during the operation as the thieves tried to escape with the livestock. All cattle were returned safely without any losses reported. The National Police Service issued warnings about illegal cross-border activities.

Uganda authorities first reported the theft and suspected that young people from the Turkana region had committed the crime. Police immediately responded and set up roadblocks to prevent the raiders from escaping. The operation required coordination between different law enforcement units to track the stolen animals. Officers successfully intercepted the group before they could hide the cattle. The quick response helped recover all the livestock that had been taken.

The government has been working on new technology to stop cattle theft across the country. Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen announced plans for a tracking system earlier this year. The Geographic Information System will help police monitor livestock movements and catch thieves faster. Testing has started and will expand to seven counties soon. The new system will connect with existing police monitoring centers for better security responses.
