Police found 42 stolen cows after catching cattle thieves in Nakasongola district. Officers grabbed four more cows on Thursday from a suspect's house. They had already rescued 38 cattle and arrested ten people during raids last week. The thieves were stealing animals at night from farms across several areas.
Police spokesman Sam Twiineamazima said they started the operation because many farmers reported missing livestock. Officers searched villages and found cattle hidden away from their real owners. Three of the arrested men were already wanted for earlier thefts. They will face the judge on Friday with extra charges added to their cases.
