Kenya DCI shakes up crime teams

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations made new appointments for regional officers. Daniel Kandie moved from Economic Crimes to Regional Criminal Investigations Officer for Coast, replacing Adan Guyo, who became director of the inspection unit. George Mutonya left West Pokot to become Nyanza's regional officer, taking over from George Kisaka, who went to headquarters as deputy head of investigations. Samson Kiptum became director of operations at headquarters, with Richard Mwaura going to the Small Arms agency.

These changes happened because of recent promotions announced by the National Police Service Commission. Many officers received higher ranks across different departments. Dr. Mwangi Wanderi, Mathew Kutoh, James Kabo, Sospeter Munyi, Adamson Bungei, Catherine Wanjiku Mugwe, Judy Jebet, Isaac Halima, and Patrick Tito were among those promoted. Administration Police officers Lazarus Opicho, Hesborn Lusweti, Jackson Kangami, and Hoseah Limo advanced to Senior Assistant Inspector General.

Francis Ndiema from Criminal Investigations also reached that rank. Michael Muchiri Nyaga and Edward Ochola rose to Assistant Inspector General. Fifty-one more officers moved up to Assistant Inspector General, such as Ali Nuno, Benard Korir, Samuel Ndanyi, Hillary Birgen, Johana Tanui, Patrick Mwakio, Sarah Duncan, Joyce Kanda, Richard Cheptilat.
