Kenya graduates first cohort of Certified Quality Professionals

Kenya graduated eight professionals from its first Certified Quality Professional program on Friday, establishing new standards for quality management expertise across industrial sectors. The Kenya Bureau of Standards partnered with the Kenya Accountants and Secretaries National Examination Board to create the certification track following the initiative's launch in 2019.

The graduates will serve as lead auditors and quality specialists in manufacturing, agribusiness and service industries. Managing Director Esther Ngari said the cohort represents a foundational step toward building sustained excellence rather than isolated quality achievements across economic sectors.

The certification equips professionals to implement and audit quality systems while addressing process improvement, statistical analysis and risk planning. Organizations employ these specialists to develop quality policies, ensure international standards compliance and lead continuous improvement efforts.

The National Quality Institute delivers training programs that advance national competitiveness through systematic quality advancement. Industry leaders received encouragement to formalize management representative positions as investments in workforce capabilities that drive innovation and economic growth.
