Kenya pushes 10-point reform agenda toward March deadline

A government committee is still talking about implementing old reform promises. Felix Koskei, the Head of Public Service, met with a group tasked with executing a national ten-point agenda and a bipartisan dialogue report. The committee provided updates on planned stakeholder talks and submitted a memorandum outlining areas needing his office's response. Similar documents will go to other government agencies soon.

Koskei promised full administrative support for the committee's work. This group handles the second phase of a process that produced recommendations on election integrity, governance reforms, and national unity. Their mandate includes creating new official positions like an Opposition Leader and a Prime Minister. The committee must deliver progress reports ahead of a key deadline in March.

The group aims to resolve public concerns about the rule of law and devolution of power. It plans to continue public consultations to gather views on the implementation process. Both the ruling UDA party and the opposition ODM hope these actions will shape engagement before the next general election. The committee recently held a multi-day meeting in Machakos County to assess its progress.
