Khary Pierre bleeds for West Indies call-up

West Indies spinner Khary Pierre attributes his cricket success to a work ethic prioritizing dedication above natural ability. The 34-year-old may earn his Test debut against India on October 2 in Ahmedabad after spending nine years advancing through Trinidad's cricket system. Pierre received his squad selection news while competing for St Lucia Kings in the Caribbean Premier League. His perseverance has yielded 111 first-class wickets at an average of 22.81 across 35 red-ball matches.

Pierre dominated the recent first-class championship with 41 wickets in seven games at a 13.56 average. The left-arm spinner began his first-class career at age 25. Pierre has represented West Indies in three One-Day Internationals, and he has 10 Twenty20 International appearances. His bowling approach emphasizes control, consistency, and using angles to deceive batsmen.
