Deputy President Kithure Kindiki led a business support meeting on Thursday at Etago. Small traders from South Mugirango came to learn about government help. Kindiki told business owners to join savings groups called Saccos. The government will give money through these groups to help companies grow. Local leaders want more jobs for young people across the area.
Each ward will receive 50,000 shillings for young business owners. The Nyota Programme has 28 billion shillings to help 70 youth businesses per ward. Government officials plan to build 400 new markets around Kenya. Kisii County will get 21 of these modern trading centers. These markets will help small businesses sell more products to customers.
