Kinteh says Sanyang VDC is no longer fit to serve community

Sanyang Development Fund diaspora members rejected the village committee's recent general meeting as ineffective. The criticism followed Chairman Abdoulie Botto Gaye's weekend allegations that SDF attempted external manipulation of local governance through negative publicity campaigns.

Vice President Ebrima Touray Kinteh denied these claims and stated that transparency concerns drive their opposition. He accused village leaders of mishandling community funds and violating constitutional requirements. The development committee failed to provide proper financial documentation during their assembly.

Saikou Camara from the diaspora leadership condemned the meeting's legitimacy due to missing bank records and audit signatures. He revealed that secret agreements occurred without community consultation regarding sand mining revenues and land leasing arrangements. These deals violated legal requirements for public participation in major decisions.

Both organizations submitted formal complaints to the Brikama Area Council about governance failures. Leaders warned that unresolved issues may force them to pursue alternative solutions for addressing management problems within the community.
