Kit Harington got seriously mad about that remake petition. The actor who played Jon Snow found the fan campaign to redo the final season of Game of Thrones genuinely insulting. He felt it disrespected the hard work of showrunners David Benioff and D. B. Weiss, calling the whole idea a product of social media idiocy.

He acknowledged the heavy criticism aimed at the last season's shorter length and story decisions. Harington admitted the entire cast was completely exhausted by the final years of production. He said everyone looked spent and could not have filmed for longer, understanding why some viewers felt the ending was rushed.

The actor conceded there might have been storytelling mistakes toward the conclusion. He referenced some interesting creative choices that possibly did not work as intended. Despite this, he firmly stood against the online petition demanding a remake with different writers.

Network executive Casey Bloys confirmed awareness of the fan petition at the time. He stated they never seriously considered complying with its demands, recognizing it as passionate enthusiasm. Bloys acknowledged the difficulty of ending a massively popular show where everyone has strong opinions.
