Kofi Adams Goes Gaga Over Black Stars London Run

Sports Minister Kofi Adams praised Ghana's Black Stars for their performance during the Unity Cup tournament at London. The national team played two games at Gtech Community Stadium against other countries. Ghana lost 2-1 to Nigeria during their first match but came back strong. The team beat Trinidad and Tobago 4-0 during the second game to finish third place. Adams thinks the tournament helped prepare players for September World Cup qualifying matches.

The minister told Sporty FM he felt happy about what the team accomplished during the competition. Ghana leads Group I and faces important games against Chad and Mali coming soon. The team travels to Chad first before hosting Mali at home. October brings matches against Comoros and Central African Republic to end qualifying rounds. Ghana wants to reach their fifth World Cup after winning four African championships previously.

The 2026 World Cup happens across three North American countries during summer. Ghana hopes strong preparation will help them qualify for the major tournament. Players gained valuable experience competing against different opponents during the London event. Adams believes the team learned important lessons despite losing one game. The Black Stars continue working toward their World Cup qualification goals.
