Konabari kitchen market fire leaves sixteen shops gutted in Gazipur

A massive blaze ripped through a busy kitchen market early Monday morning. Flames destroyed sixteen shops at the Konabari market in Gazipur before dawn broke across the city. The fire started around half past five and spread like wildfire through the crowded shopping area. Shopkeepers watched helplessly as their businesses turned to ash and smoke. Station Officer Saiful Islam from Konabari Fire Station rushed to the scene with his team.

Four fire trucks raced to battle the raging inferno that threatened to consume everything. Firefighters worked for two and a half hours to tame the dangerous flames. The brave crews saved millions of taka worth of goods from complete destruction. They managed to rescue items valued at five crore taka from the burning buildings. Nobody got hurt during the terrifying incident that could have been much worse.

Officials believe faulty electrical wiring sparked the devastating fire. Short circuits often cause these types of disasters in crowded markets across Bangladesh. The total damage amounts to about twenty-five lakh taka according to early estimates. Fire service teams will investigate further to confirm exactly what happened. Market vendors must rebuild their lives and businesses after losing everything to the flames.
