Kotoko Dazzle Otumfuo with FA Cup Glory

Asante Kotoko players brought their FA Cup trophy to meet their royal patron after winning the championship. The team visited Otumfuo Osei Tutu II on Wednesday to show him their tenth cup title. Kotoko beat Golden Kick FC 2-1 during Sunday's final match at University of Ghana Sports Stadium. Kwame Opoku scored twice for the Porcupine Warriors to secure victory.

Golden Kick matched Kotoko's early goal with a brilliant free kick from Bless Ege before halftime. The game stayed tied until Kotoko earned a penalty kick late during the second half. Opoku calmly scored the winning goal from the penalty spot under coach Karim Zito. The team returned to Kumasi on Monday and prepared for their royal presentation.

Interim Management Committee Chairman Nana Apinkrah Akwasi Awuah led the delegation to meet Otumfuo. Kwesi Appiah and Technical Director Malik Jabir joined the trophy presentation ceremony. The king praised his team for their strong performance and fighting spirit throughout the tournament. He urged the players to represent Kotoko well when they compete against African clubs next season. The FA Cup victory earned them a spot in the 2025-26 CAF Confederation Cup competition.
