CAPCOM adds a new game mode to Kunitsu-Gami Path of the Goddess called Otherworldly Ventures. The tower defense game failed to become a huge hit after launch last year. Players can enjoy this endless mode on Nintendo Switch 2 and other gaming systems. The company hopes the handheld version will bring more success. CAPCOM releases this content for free on June 5th.
Otherworldly Ventures changes how players experience the original campaign maps. Soh starts each run with basic skills and can only give villagers two job types. Players pick upgrades after beating enemy waves to improve their chances. The mode removes some complex elements, such as rescuing villagers and guiding characters. Crystals appear more often to help players buy items during battles.
The new mode moves much faster than the main story campaign. Enemy creatures from late game levels appear right away during early waves. Players face tougher challenges as waves continue without automatic health recovery. Hard difficulty lets the mode continue forever with increasingly difficult enemies. CAPCOM scores each run and gives rewards to encourage repeat play.
