Kwekwe Resident Demands Probe into Chivayo Money Scam

A man from Kwekwe asked Parliament to investigate money problems with businessman Wicknell Chivayo. Emmanuel Moyo wrote to Speaker Jacob Mudenda about a huge $100 million election tender. He wants lawmakers to check how Chivayo got R800 million from a South African printing deal for ballot papers. The South African money team has already flagged strange bank moves through FNB, Standard Bank, and Absa accounts.

Moyo believes Parliament must use its power to monitor public cash spent on this deal. The petition points to parts of Zimbabwe law that make Parliament responsible for tracking government spending. Money reports show Chivayo spent cash on fancy clothes, cars, trips abroad, and houses. People say he paid off important officials to make the deal happen.

Recordings seem to name who got paid, such as top government workers and family members close to the president. Two former business friends of Chivayo are already in jail for related troubles. Moyo says taxpayers deserve to know where their money went. The case shows how hard it can be to stop powerful people from taking public money.
