Lagos Councils Raking It In With Zero Oversight

Lagos local governments operated independently long before the Supreme Court ruled on autonomy. Commissioner Bolaji Robert explained this during Governor Sanwo-Olu's anniversary event on Thursday. Local areas receive federal money without any state meddling. Lagos never owes these councils anything. Their performance beats other states because they control their finances.

Robert announced that Lagos installed 50 traditional rulers during this administration. Seventeen of these leaders hold first-class monarch status. The first installation featured HRM Oba Omogbolahan Lawal as Oniru of Iru Kingdom. More royal appointments are happening soon. The ministry continues processing additional traditional ruler requests.

Families received over 775 million naira after losing loved ones who worked for education boards and councils. The ministry approved 85 major construction projects across all local areas. Officials also distributed marriage certificates and various licenses to communities. Administrative oversight covers all 57 local government areas and development councils. Robert invited anyone to verify these financial claims independently.
