Lakurawa bandits kill four in Sokoto village attack, injure one farmer

Armed fighters killed four people and hurt one farmer during an attack on Sabiyo Village in Sokoto State. The Lakurawa bandits struck on Tuesday in Tangaza Local Government Area. Attackers carried powerful guns and traveled on motorcycles and on foot. Security sources told reporter Zagazola Makama about the deadly raid. The violence happened during farming season when many people work their fields.

The gunmen first targeted two farmers working on their land. Aminu Sama'ila took bullets to his neck and chest but lived through the shooting. Doctors are treating him at a medical center. His fellow farmer Usman Sama'ila disappeared during the attack and rescue teams continue searching for him. The attackers moved from the farmland into the village center.

Four residents died when the bandits opened fire on the community. The killers shot their victims right away without warning. This attack matches other violent raids the Lakurawa group has carried out against farming villages. The bandits often target rural communities during planting and harvest times. Many families fear leaving their homes to tend crops.

Security teams from Operation Fansan Yanma have started hunting the attackers. Police tactical units and local guards joined the search mission. Forces are checking bush trails and border areas between Nigeria and Niger Republic. The manhunt covers remote paths where criminals often hide. Military leaders want to catch the bandits before they strike again.

Border communities worry about food shortages and having to flee their homes. Families cannot safely farm their land when violence continues. People need crops to feed themselves and earn money. The attacks threaten food supplies across the region.
