Lawyer Blasts Govs Pocketing Cash And Doing Nothing

Dr Olisa Agbakoba criticized Nigeria's 36 state governors for failing their duties. The former Bar Association president accused the leaders of doing nothing for citizens. He said governors only travel to Abuja each month and collect money from the federal government. Agbakoba made these comments during a Friday television interview on Channels TV. The senior lawyer wants President Tinubu to give more power to state and local governments.

About 250 million Nigerians need good leadership from their elected officials. Agbakoba hopes any president succeeds because millions of people depend on effective government. He believes President Tinubu should do more to guide Nigeria toward better development. The country needs clear direction and progress under current leadership. Citizens deserve to see real benefits from democratic government.

Local governments across Nigeria's 774 areas also fail to serve people properly. Agbakoba wants political power shared among federal, state and local levels of government. Development should start from communities and move upward rather than coming from the top down. This approach would help ordinary Nigerians receive actual benefits from democracy. Better government structure could improve life for millions of struggling citizens.
