Lawyers 4 ED goes continental, launches ALED initiative

Lawyers for Economic Development out of Zimbabwe is going continental with a new platform called African Lawyers for Economic Development that connects legal work with investment stuff across the whole region. Advocate Mellisa Dinha runs the group, and she says Zimbabwe stays as headquarters while they build out chapters everywhere else after spending two years getting the structure ready. President Emmerson Mnangagwa backed the original Zimbabwe version when it launched, and he is staying on as patron for the expanded Africa-wide setup.

The crew has been networking hard at investment conferences in places like Abu Dhabi, talking with business chambers and wealthy backers about funneling money into African projects through proper legal channels. Dinha recently moved to Cameroon with her husband, which opened doors for recruiting lawyers from Central and West Africa, while interest is rolling in from Kenya, Zambia, South Africa, and expats in the UK.
