One Christmas story about wrapping trees made him internet famous many times over. The Estonia disaster coverage marked one of his most serious reporting assignments. Modig won the Guldkrattan prize during 2011 for his journalism skills.

Modig hosted another show called Lelle Knocks where he visited people for breakfast. Hockey player Börje Salming served him oatmeal porridge at his Vaxholm home. The retired reporter says he mostly missed meeting new people during his time off. He wants to travel around Sweden again and cover interesting stories.
