Atletico Madrid settled for a 1-1 draw at Celta Vigo on Sunday in La Liga after playing more than half the match with 10 men due to Clement Lenglet’s red card. Diego Simeone’s team remains fifth in the standings, trailing leaders Real Madrid by eight points and sitting six points behind second-place Barcelona.
Atletico took the lead when Carl Starfelt scored an own goal, but Lenglet was sent off in the 40th minute after receiving two yellow cards for fouls on Ferran Jutgla. Iago Aspas, who matched Celta’s all-time appearance record, equalized in the second half as Celta dominated possession but could not find a winner.
Celta remain without a league win this season, drawing six of their eight matches.
