Lewis Hamilton's Singapore GP dreams set to crumble

Lewis Hamilton faces potential penalties from the FIA after officials investigated his actions under red flag conditions at the Singapore Grand Prix practice session on Saturday. The seven-time champion allegedly failed to maintain proper speed through the pit lane area after Liam Lawson's crash prompted race control to halt the third practice session.

FIA regulations require drivers to reduce speed below maximum limits, but maintain velocities above minimum thresholds when red flags appear. Hamilton initially appeared to comply with safety protocols as he approached the incident zone, but telemetry data suggests he may have increased his speed afterward.

The Mercedes driver could receive grid penalties for the race and face penalty points added to his Super License if stewards determine he violated red flag procedures. The governing body enforces strict safety standards across all Formula 1 sessions, regardless of whether competitive racing is underway.

Race officials will review evidence before deciding whether Hamilton breached International Sporting Code regulations ahead of the night race at Marina Bay Circuit. The investigation adds uncertainty to his weekend as the championship battle continues with rivals leading the standings.
