Lights flicker back as gas lines are fixed, grid stumbles on

Maybe the lights will actually stay on this time. The Nigerian government says power generation is getting better because a major gas pipeline got fixed. Officials from the Nigerian Independent System Operator reported that the Lagos-Escravos gas line, which was damaged by vandals, is now back in action after repairs by the Nigerian Gas Infrastructure Company. This fix is sending more gas to several big thermal power plants across the country.

The statement also mentioned that other thermal plants are ready to go, just waiting for their own gas deliveries. To keep everything stable, the plants that are back online are slowly ramping up their power output. This news comes after a rough period where parts of the national grid failed, leaving many areas, including neighborhoods in the Federal Capital Territory, in the dark recently.
