On the work side, Hooda last appeared in an action movie titled Jaat, which starred Sunny Deol. His next project is a war drama named Operation Khukri. He actually owns the rights to a book about a real military mission with the same name, written by Major General Rajpal Punia and Damini Punia. The film will cover a real hostage situation from the year 2000, where over two hundred Indian soldiers were captured by rebels in Sierra Leone, located in West Africa. Hooda will play the role of Major General Rajpal Punia, who was a company commander during that event and led the risky jungle rescue operation.
