Litton Das breaks nine toss jinx, elects to field against Pakistan

Bangladesh captain Litton Das ended his streak of nine consecutive toss defeats when he won the coin flip against Pakistan at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium. The hosts returned to T20I action at their home venue after a 14-month absence from the format. Das opted to bowl first after winning the toss.

Pakistan skipper Salman Agha confirmed that he would have made the same choice regarding the batting order. Bangladesh altered their lineup from the recent Sri Lanka encounter by bringing in Taskin Ahmed in place of Shoriful Islam. Fast bowler Salman Mirza earned his maiden T20I cap for the visiting team.

The home team fielded Parvez Hossain Emon and Tanzid Hasan as openers with Das keeping wicket. Pakistan started with Fakhar Zaman and Saim Ayub at the top of their batting order. Both teams prepared for the opening match of their bilateral series.
