Pakistan elects to field first against Australia in Colombo

Pakistan won the toss and chose to field first against Australia in the ninth match of the ICC Women’s World Cup at the R. Premadasa Stadium. Australia made two changes, recalling pacer Megan Schutt and leg-spinner Georgia Wareham in place of Darcie Brown and Sophie Molineux, who were rested. Pakistan made one adjustment, with Eyman Fatima replacing Aliya Riaz.

Pakistan captain Fatima Sana said the team expected spinners to play a key role on a dry pitch and emphasized the need for strong partnerships. Australia captain Alyssa Healy said her team had preferred to bat first in the warm conditions and explained that Molineux was being managed carefully through the tournament.
