Lucas Radebe Endorses Early European Move for Relebohile Mofokeng

Former South African captain Lucas Radebe believes Orlando Pirates winger Relebohile Mofokeng should move to Europe soon. Radebe played for Kaizer Chiefs and Leeds United during his career. He thinks players do not need many seasons in local leagues before moving abroad. European clubs and Major League Soccer teams are watching the young player closely. Radebe told iDiski Times that two strong seasons prove a player is ready.

The former defender says young athletes develop faster when they leave South Africa early. He believes several past stars should have moved overseas sooner rather than staying home longer. Radebe mentioned players like Siphiwe Tshabalala and Yeye Letsholonyane as examples. He thinks staying at local clubs for extended periods hurts player growth. Early moves to foreign leagues help careers more than waiting.

Mofokeng's father Sechaba wants his son to play in Europe next season. He spoke to Soccer Laduma about his hopes for the winger's future. Sechaba prays daily that his son will leave the South African league. He believes Mofokeng can succeed at any top European club. The father thinks his son has the skills to play in Spain, England, France or other major leagues.
