Simba Bhora has a new coach, Mandla Mpofu, who goes by Lulu. He just took over from Joel Luphahla, who moved to FC Platinum. Lulu was coaching Tafic FC in Botswana and has a long resume with other regional teams, plus local clubs like Highlanders.
The guy sounds pumped. He said coming back home is good, and his job is to continue the work already happening. The club itself, founded in 2008 and based in Shamva, has a stacked trophy case. They won the Premier Soccer League title, along with a bunch of other cups, over the last few years.
Fans are hopeful Lulu's mix of local and regional experience can keep the success going. Over at FC Platinum, they also made a change, replacing former coach Norman Mapeza. But the focus right now is on Lulu bringing his approach to the reigning champs.
