Zimbabwe plans to establish vocational training facilities in every district to expand access to technical education in remote areas, according to Youth Empowerment Minister Tino Machakaire. The official announced the expansion strategy after 304 students received national trade certificates from eight institutions across Mashonaland West Province at Mashayamombe VTC in Mhondoro-Mubaira. The initiative aligns with the objectives of the National Development Strategy 2 for grassroots skills development.
Memory Mandaba, who earned top honors in auto-electric engineering at Kadoma VTC, expressed plans to open her own workshop while encouraging women to pursue technical fields. Building studies graduate Tawedzera Shoko intends to launch a business using starter equipment provided at the ceremony. Senator Chief Ngezi credited vocational programs with reducing substance addiction and violence by equipping young people with employment skills. Additional centers will open in Sanyati, Siakobvu, and Mhangura.
