Maenzanise crowned Africa's strongest woman

Zimbabwean athlete Chido Maenzanise claimed the Africa's Strongest Woman title after defeating 12 competitors at the Eastrand Strongest competition in South Africa on Saturday, October 25. Her performance qualified her for the World's Strongest competition and placed her 21st in global rankings. Maenzanise competed in five strength events against opponents in the open category.

The competitor told the media she initially struggled as the sole Black woman in the field but rallied after remembering she represented her nation. She credited thorough preparation for her success in the lever deadlift, vehicle push, circus dumbbell, dinner stones, and log ladder events. The Sports and Recreation Commission of Zimbabwe praised her achievement.
