Walter Magaya keeps asking to fix up the Gwanzura and Chibuku stadiums. The PHD Ministries founder really wants permission to renovate these places. His passion for soccer shows through everything he does. Magaya heads Yadah FC and has already helped sports all around Zimbabwe.
He just built The Heart Stadium II far away in Mozambique. Then, he started work on another big project called The Heart Stadium III in Lilongwe, Malawi. Yet, back home, nobody lets him touch the stadiums he cares about. His many offers have gone nowhere despite his money and willingness.
Magaya remains positive about fixing these two places someday. He says the stadiums in Highfield and Chitungwiza remain at the top of his list. Local officials keep turning him down when he asks for permission. The Malawi government rushed to approve his paperwork right away, making Zimbabwe look slow by comparison.
He builds these stadiums because he believes kids deserve great places to play soccer. Magaya wants young players to practice on world-class fields instead of poor facilities. He plans to keep building more stadiums when possible, both at home and across Africa. His goal is to help talented youth show their skills on proper soccer grounds.
