Former Warriors soccer player Kudakwashe Mahachi must pay $320 each month to support his two children. A Bulawayo court made this decision after his ex-wife Marita Ndlovu sued him for child support. Mahachi had not paid anything since 2022. The court ordered him to pay $200 for one child and $120 for another child. He also must pay for a DNA test to prove if he fathered the second child.
Marita asked for $630 monthly to cover school costs, food, clothes, medical bills and transport. She earns just $50 per month from selling items on the street. One child needs special care after getting hurt and requires a wheelchair. Marita said she cannot handle all expenses alone with such low income. The child needs monthly medical visits for ongoing treatment.
Mahachi questioned whether he fathered the older child through his lawyer. His lawyer offered only $220 total for both children. The court found this amount was not enough for proper care. If DNA tests prove Mahachi is not the father, his lawyer wants Marita arrested for lying to the court.
