Mahama sets date for River Oti bridge, unveils major road and university plans

President John Dramani Mahama declared that groundbreaking activities for the River Oti bridge will commence this year during his Thank You Tour visit to Dambai. The infrastructure project addresses transportation difficulties caused by unreliable ferry operations that frequently malfunction. Economic development and safer passage for travelers represent primary benefits expected from the bridge construction. Ferry crossings currently pose risks that the permanent structure will eliminate. Regional commerce should expand once reliable transportation links become available.

Multiple roadway developments advance under the Big Push Agenda across the Oti Region. Contractors will begin work on the Nkwanta-Kpassa-Damanko route, Okadja-Krom pathway, Kwamekrom road, Abotoass-Atonkor connection, and Dambai-Nkwanta thoroughfare after procurement processes conclude. These transportation improvements will enhance regional connectivity and stimulate local business activity. The administration demonstrates commitment to infrastructure priorities that support community economic growth. A proposed regional university also received presidential endorsement to expand educational access and develop local human resources for future development initiatives.
