Maj Gen Busizoori hails security and cultural leaders in Gulu for Balaalo eviction

Major General Felix Busizoori commended security forces across the West Nile and Acholi regions for their professional handling of nomadic herder relocations. The 4 Infantry Division commander addressed officials during an Operation Harmony assessment at Gulu headquarters. Security teams documented the voluntary departure of 19,826 cattle through Karuma Bridge during the past month. Another 5,390 animals returned to South Sudan under the presidential directive.

Busizoori warned illegal herders from Cameroon, the Central African Republic, and South Sudan against unauthorized border crossings. The general rejected claims that forces killed livestock at detention facilities. He attributed animal deaths to herder negligence rather than military action. Cultural leaders received praise for supporting peaceful community mobilization efforts.

Koboko officials emphasized the voluntary nature of compliance procedures. Regional police criticized politicians for undermining operational goals through interference. The June 2025 initiative targets unauthorized pastoral activities in northern territories. Agriculture and transport ministries received requests for infrastructure improvements to support ongoing enforcement activities.
