Malaysians protest Trump's nomination of Nick Adams as ambassador to Malaysia

Malaysian youth groups staged demonstrations outside the United States embassy in Kuala Lumpur on Friday to oppose President Donald Trump's ambassador selection. The protesters demanded rejection of Nick Adams, a right-wing commentator known for his strong support of Israel. Demonstrators carried signs reading "Reject Nick Adams" and "No space for racists and Islamophobes in Malaysia" while chanting against his appointment. The Pakatan Harapan coalition youth wings organized the peaceful rally and submitted formal objections to embassy officials. Police officers monitored the event and managed traffic flow around the demonstration site.

Adams describes himself as an "alpha male" and "wildly successful" on social media platforms. The Australian-born naturalized American citizen has made controversial statements supporting Israel and opposing Palestinian causes. Malaysia maintains no diplomatic relations with Israel and consistently criticizes Israeli military actions in Gaza. Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim faces pressure from trade negotiations while considering public opposition to the nomination. Adams expressed honor at receiving the diplomatic appointment opportunity.
